Terms of Service

Morfei.AI (“Morfei,” “we,” “us”) provides an AI-powered writing service centered on the Morfei Editor (the “Service”). We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to subscribe. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@morfei.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.

A free account gives you one full Morfei Editor session. To continue using the Service, you must subscribe to a paid plan.

Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe at the price and interval shown on the pricing page. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; you will keep access through the end of the paid billing period.

Refunds. We refund subscription fees within 7 days of purchase if you have generated three or fewer results during that period. After 7 days, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Price changes. We may change subscription prices on notice. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing period.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Pass off AI-generated text as your own where doing so would violate the rules of a school, employer, journal, or other institution that bind you.
• Submit content you do not have the right to submit, including content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, or that discloses someone else's personal information without consent.
• Submit content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence.
• Attempt to reverse engineer the Service, defeat rate limits, scrape, or otherwise abuse the API or infrastructure.
• Resell, white-label, or otherwise commercialize the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and remove content that does.

Your content.You keep all rights in the text, files, and other materials you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service to you, including by sending it to the AI providers and integrity providers described in our Privacy Policy.

Generated output. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the output the Service generates for you from Your Content, to the extent we hold any rights in it. You are responsible for how you use that output.

Our materials. The Service itself — including our software, branding, prompts, and templates — is owned by Morfei or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use it solely as offered through the Service.

The Service uses large language models and third-party integrity providers. Output may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date. In particular:

• Citations and sources suggested by the Service must be independently verified before use.
• Morfei Editor output is a planning aid, not a finished paper, and generated model reports are study aids — not work to be submitted unchanged.

You are responsible for reviewing all output before relying on it, submitting it, or sharing it.

The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe for billing and Anthropic for AI. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or possible legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to access the Service ends, but sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (for example, ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms) will survive.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MORFEI AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Morfei from any third-party claims arising from Your Content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive forum for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits a consumer's rights under the mandatory law of their place of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will give you notice (for example, by email or via the Service) before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
