Privacy Policy

Morfei.AI (“Morfei,” “we,” or “us”) operates an online AI writing toolkit, including the Morfei Editor, Grammar Coach, Plagiarism Check, Citation Generator, and Paraphraser (the “Service”).

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a salted hash of your password. If you verify your email, we record the verification timestamp.

Content you submit. When you use a tool, we receive the text, files, and metadata you upload — including documents, drafts, prompts, and answers to assignment intake questions.

Generated output. We store the results returned by our AI models so you can revisit them in your account and so we can support, debug, and improve the Service.

Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your card details directly; we never see or store them. We keep a Stripe customer ID, the plan you are on, and the subscription status.

Usage information. We log basic technical data — IP address, timestamps, the tool used, the AI model used, and the number of tokens consumed — so we can run, secure, and meter the Service.

Cookies and local storage. We use a session cookie set by our authentication library to keep you signed in, a small preference value to remember your light/dark theme choice, and browser local storage to persist your in-progress plans between sessions. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

• To provide the Service and the specific tool you are using.
• To authenticate you, verify your email, and protect your account from unauthorized access.
• To process subscription payments through Stripe.
• To debug errors, prevent abuse, and maintain the security and reliability of the Service.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not train AI models on your inputs. Your content is used to produce results for you, not to train any model owned by us or by our AI providers.

We share the minimum information needed to run the Service, including:

• Anthropic — to generate text for tools that use a large language model. Anthropic processes prompts under its own commercial terms.
• Stripe — to handle subscription billing.
• Plagiarism and AI-detection providers (e.g., Copyleaks, Originality) — only when you use the corresponding tool, and only the text you submit to that tool.
• Email provider — to send verification and account emails.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run our application servers and database.

We may disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Morfei, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. We keep generated results and job records to power your history view and for support and abuse-prevention purposes. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@morfei.ai; we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, billing, or security reasons.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information — including TLS for data in transit, hashed passwords, scoped database access, and short-lived authentication sessions. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may process and store your information in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you agree to such transfers, subject to appropriate safeguards under applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or via the Service. The “Effective” date at the top of this page indicates when this version took effect.
